Dear Parents:

A few weeks ago at our grade level meetings I told you about a new service called Best Brief which would soon be available to you. The service is now active and ready for use.

For those of you who haven’t heard about the service, Best Brief is an automatic dialer system accessed from our website that will call you if and when there is an urgent matter that requires us to communicate to you. For instance, snow days can be a matter of great confusion for everyone and the dialer has the ability to call everyone in the school simultaneously. If you opt to subscribe to Best Brief, you will list your preferred phone number and the dialer will call to inform you that there is no school. Please understand that this service is optional. If you choose not to participate, do nothing and you will continue to see the public service announcements on the local media.

If you choose to participate, follow the quick instructions to register:

¨ Go to the school website: www.stgerardlansing.com

¨ Click on the Best Brief icon on the left side of the homepage

¨ Click on sign up

¨ Click on By Class

¨ Click on your child’s teacher

¨ Follow the prompts. It will ask why you want to sign up. You may say, “Security Reasons” or “My child is in this class” or something similar.

¨ We will monitor this site and verify that you are a school parent. You will then be added to the dialer.

¨ Please note that the dialer will call all phones listed so list only the phones that you want called. The dialer will not leave a message on an answering machine but will retry the number in 10 minutes.

Although this is an optional service for you, it is our hope that it will be an easy way to communicate quickly and efficiently when unexpected situations arise.
